How to crochet sun hat using beanie pattern

Everyone loves the stitch pattern on Mayuri’s crochet beanie. So I decided to crochet wide brimmed sun hat by following the pattern. It was very simple and easy.

In this tutorial, I’m going to explain to you how to crochet a sun hat using Mayuri’s crochet beanie pattern. You only have to add a wide brim after following the pattern >>

Mayuri’s crochet beanie pattern listed in 3 sizes – child, teen, and adult.

Select the size you want and follow the pattern until

• Round 15 in child size
• Round 18 in teen size
• Round 20 in adult size

Using 2 colors of worsted weight cotton yarn.

Brim for sun hat

Notes:

• I used black and gray multicolored yarn for (MC) and White color for (C2) for the sun hat pattern.
• First round 5 of  brim part with (C2) and last round of crab stitch/Reverse Single Crochet with (MC).

Round 1: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each st around, sl st to first st

Round 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, *hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to first st.

Round 3: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, *hdc in next 6 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to first st.

Round 4: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, *hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to first st.

Round 5: ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, * hdc in next 8 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to first st.

Round 6: ch 1, crab st/Reverse Single Crochet in each st around, sl st to first st.
