Materials
- #2-Fine / sport weight yarn in 3 colors (golden yellow, brown and black). (Approx: 15 yards for each color)
- G-6, 4mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle for weaving ends.
Gauge: Gauge is not very important for this pattern.
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sk = skip
- st(s) = stitch(s)
- *to ; = repeat * to the instructions.
Crochet Sunflower Pattern
With black color, make a magic ring
Round 1: ch 1, 5 sc into the ring, sl st to the first st. (5 sts)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, sl st to the first st. (10 sts)
Round 3: ch 1, sc in first st, *2 sc in next st, sc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (15 sts)
Round 4: ch 1, sc in first st, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (20 sts)
Round 5: ch 1, sc in first st, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (25 sts)
Round 6: with brown color, ch 1, sc in first st, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (30 sts)
Round 7: with golden yellow color, *ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in each of next ch 3, dc in each of next ch 3, sk next st of round 6, sl st to the next st of round 6 – made one petal; repeat * to around, Fasten off and weave the end. At the end, there should be 15 petals.
