It is fun to crochet and great as a pin with love notes. Or use them as a key chain, attached them on bags, purse and more.
This is a super easy amigurumi type little project you may love to try.

Materials

  • Sport or DK weight yarn in red color yarn (approx: 30 yards)
  • Sport or DK weight yarn in white color yarn (approx: 30 yards)
  • E-4, 3.5mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends.
  • Fiberfil

Gauge: Gauge is not very important for this project

Abbreviations

  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • st = stitch
  • sk = skip
  • Beg = beginning
  • * to ; = repeat * to the instructions.
  • sc dec = Insert the hook and draw up a loop in each of 2 stitches, yarn over, pull back through all 3 loops on hook at once. 

Notes:

  • Beg ch does not count as a stitch.
  • The heart work in bottom up.

Heart Angel Free Pattern

With red color yarn, crochet ch 2
Round 1: 3 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sl st to the first st. (3 sts)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, sl st to the first st. (6 sts)
Round 3: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (9 sts)
Round 4: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (12 sts)
Round 5: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat *to around, sl st to the first st. (15 sts)
Round 6: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; repeat *to around, sl st to the first st. (18 sts) Add fiberfill while crocheting.

Heart top
Round 7: ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 8 sts, sk next 9 sts and sl st to the first st. (9 sts)
Round 8: ch 1, sc in first st, *sc dec, sc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (6 sts)
Round 9: ch 1, start from the first st, sc dec around, sl st to the first st. (3 sts) Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving about 6″ long yarn tail. (see below images)

Other side of the heart top.
Join the red yarn one of skipped st, ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 8 sts, sl st to the first st. (9 sts) Add fiberfill while crocheting.
Repeat rounds 7 to 9 above. (see below images) 

With tapestry needle and the yarn tail, sew and close the heart top.

There is a little hole left in the middle of the two heart tops. You can use it to add more fiberfill to make the shape of the heart. Finally make few stitches using yarn tails of the heart top to close the hole.

Wings
Select a stitch at the one of the side of the heart in round 3. Insert the hook in and out and crochet 5 chains with white color yarn

hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in each of next 3 ch, sl st to the next st of the heart.

Crochet ch 6 again, hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in each of next 4 ch, sl st to the next st of the heart.

Crochet ch 7 again, hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in each of next 5 ch, sl st to the next st of the heart. Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving about 6″ long yarn tail.

Repeat these steps on other side to make wings.

    These angel heart wings would be nice to take and embroider example … Mom and date she passed… do one in blue with Dad.. etc… Maybe one in pink with the cancer support ribbon stitched on it. Possibilities are endless. Very cute hearts.
