Hello my crochet lover friends, 🙂 here are matching fingerless gloves to go with beanie I shared a couple of weeks ago. Because I love the texture of crochet spider stitch and it is perfect for fingerless gloves.

I made this quick and simple fingerless gloves pattern in 3 adult sizes, small, large and extra large. I hope you like the pattern.

Crochet Spider Stitch Beanie Free Pattern

Skill Level: Intermediate

Finished sizes: 

  • Small = 7” tall and 6” circumference above the thumb.
  • Large = 8.25” tall and 6.5” circumference above the thumb.
  • Extra large = 9.25” tall and 7” circumference above the thumb.

Materials:
#4 – Medium / Worsted weight yarns (Approx: 160 total yards)
(I used soft and silky yarn that consist 70% of animal fiber Alpaca)

  • (C1) Purple color Approx: 80 yards
  • (C2) Gray color Approx: 80 yards
  • I-9, 5.5mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Gauge: 12 hdc x 8 rows = 4” with I-9, 5.5mm crochet hook.

Abbreviations/special stitches

  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • st = stitch
  • BLO = back loop only
  • ch-1 sp = chain-1 space
  • sk = skip
  • beg = beginning
  • * to ; = work instructions within brackets as many times as directed
  • [] = work instructions within brackets as many times as directed
  • (C1) = color 1
  • (C2) = color 2

Special stitches

  • Spider stitch: (sc, ch 1, sc) into the ch-1 sp of spider st in previous round.

Small Size
  • 7” tall and 6” circumference above the thumb.

(Make 2)

Part 1
Leaving 6” long tail of the yarn, crochet ch 11 with (C1).

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st across, turn. (10 sts)

Row 2: ch 1, (working in BLO) sc in each st across, turn. (10 sts)

Row 3 to 22: repeat row 2.(Insert the yarn tail through the tapestry needle. Place two short sides together sew with the tapestry needle)

Part 2 (work in long side of part 1)

Round 1: (RS) with (C1), ch 1, sc in first st and each st around, sl st to the first sc. (22 sts)

Round 2: with (C2), repeat round 1.

Round 3: ch 1, 2 spider sts (see special stitch) in first st, sk next st, spider st in next st, sk next st, 2 spider sts in next st, *sk next st, spider st in next st; repeat * to around, after skipping last st, sl st to the first sc. (13 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 4: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (13 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.
Round 5 to 9: repeat round 4.

Round 10: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, sk next 3 spider stitches, spider st in next ch-1 sp in spider st, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (10 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 11: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (10 spider sts)

Round 12: ch 1, sc in same st, *sk next ch-1 sp, sc in each of next 2 sc; repeat * to around, sl st to the first sc. (20 sc)

Round 13: with (C1) ch 1, sc in first st and each of next st around, sl st to the first st. (20 sc)

Round 14 to 15: repeat round 13. Fasten off and weave the ends.


Large Size
  • 8.25” tall and 6.5” circumference above the thumb.

(Make 2)

Part 1
Leaving 6” long tail of the yarn, crochet ch 11 with (C1).

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st across, turn. (12 sts)

Row 2: ch 1, (working in BLO) sc in each st across, turn. (12 sts)

(14 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 4: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (14 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 5 to 11: repeat round 4.

Round 12: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, sk next 3 spider stitches, spider st in next ch-1 sp in spider st, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (11 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 13: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (11 spider sts)

Round 14: repeat round 13

Round 15: ch 1, sc in same st, *sk next ch-1 sp, sc in each of next 2 sc; repeat * to around, sl st to the first sc. (22 sc)

Round 16: with (C1) ch 1, sc in first st and each of next st around, sl st to the first st. (22 sc)

Round 17 to 18: repeat round 16. Fasten off and weave the ends.


Extra large Size
  • 9.25” tall and 7” circumference above the thumb.

(Make 2)

Part 1
Leaving 6” long tail of the yarn, crochet ch 11 with (C1).

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st across, turn. (12 sts)

Row 2: ch 1, (working in BLO) sc in each st across, turn. (12 sts)

Part 2 (work in the long side of part 1)

Round 1: (RS) with (C1), ch 1, sc in first st and each st around, sl st to the first sc. (26 sts)

Round 2: with (C2), repeat round 1.

Round 3: ch 1, 2 spider sts (see special stitch) in first st, [sk next st, 2 spider sts in next st] 2 times, *sk next st, spider st in next st; repeat * to around, after skipping last st, sl st to the first sc. (16 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 4: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (16 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 5 to 13: repeat round 4.

Round 14: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, sk next 4 spider stitches, spider st in next ch-1 sp in spider st, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (12 spider sts) Before starting next round, sl st to the next (first) ch-1 space in spider st.

Round 15 to 17: ch 1, spider st in same ch-1 sp, spider st in each of next ch-1 sp around, sl st to the first sc. (12 spider sts)

Round 18: ch 1, sc in same st, *sk next ch-1 sp, sc in each of next 2 sc; repeat * to around, sl st to the first sc. (24 sc)

Round 19: with (C1) ch 1, sc in first st and each of next st around, sl st to the first st. (24 sc)

Round 20 to 21: repeat round 19. Fasten off and weave the ends.
