Spring & Summer Lace Beanie Pattern by Crochet For You.

Hi my friends, Today I’m going to show you how to crochet this beanie pattern perfect for spring & Summer. 🙂

The easy V stitches and two double crochet blocks in two contrast color combination gives a nice lace texture to the beanie. This pattern available in 3 sizes, 12 – 18 months, child and teen/adult.

(12-18 months)

  • Crown = 5.5” / hat height = 6.75” / hat circumference = 16”

(Child)

  • Crown = 6.5” /hat height = 7.5” / hat circumference = 18 – 19”

(Teen/adult)

  • Crown = 7” / hat height = 8.25” / hat circumference = 20 – 21”

Materials:

I used 2 contrast colors of #4-Medium / Worsted yarn (Approx: 150 yards for teen/adult size)

  • Color 1 (Approx: 100 yards)
  • Color 2 (Approx: 50 yards)
  • I-9/ 5.5mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends.

Gauge: 13 hdc x 9 rows = 4″ with I-9 / 5.5mm crochet hook

Abbreviations/special stitches

  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sk = skip
  • st = stitch
  • ch-sp = chain space
  • beg = beginning
  • (C1) = color 1
  • (C2) = color 2
  • *to; = repeat * to the instructions.

Special stitch
V-st = (dc, ch 2, dc) in indicated st.

Spring & Summer Lace Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

With (C1) yarn, make a magic/adjustable ring.

Round 1: ch 1 (does not count as st), 8 hdc into the ring, sl st to the first st. (8 hdc)

Round 2: ch 1 (does not count as st), 2 hdc in each st around, sl st to the first st. (16 hdc)

Round 3: ch 1 (does not count as st), 2 hdc in first st, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (24 hdc)

Round 4: ch 1 (does not count as st), 2 hdc in first st, *hdc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (32 sts)

Round 5: ch 1 (does not count as st), 2 hdc in first st, *hdc in each of next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the first st. (40 sts)

Round 6: join (C2) yarn, ch 4 (count as dc and ch 1), dc in first st (made first V-st), *sk next st, V-st (see in special stitch) in next st; repeat * to around, sl st to the 3rd chain of beg ch. (20 sts)

Round 7: join (C1) yarn in one of the ch-sp of V-st, ch 3 (count as dc), dc in same ch-sp, *ch 1, 2 dc in ch-sp of next V-st; repeat *to around, sl st to the beg ch 3 top. (40 dc)

Round 8: join (C2) yarn in ch-sp between dc sts, ch 4 (count as dc and ch 1), dc in same ch-sp, *V-st in next ch-sp between dc sts; repeat *to around, sl st to the 3rd chain of beg ch. (20 V-st)

Round 9: repeat round 7.

Round 10: repeat round 8.

Round 11: repeat round 7.

Round 12: with (C1) yarn, ch 1 (does not count as st), hdc in first st, hdc in next st, hdc in ch-sp, *hdc in each of next 2 dc, hdc in next ch-sp; repeat *to around, sl st to the first st. (60 sts)

Round 13: Work in Back Loop Only, ch 1 (does not count as st), sc in first st, sc in each st around, sl st to the first st. (60 sts)

Round 14: repeat round 13.

Round 15: repeat round 13. Fasten off and weave the ends.
