Tapestry Crochet Diamond Beanie Pattern by Crochet For You

Who is getting ready for beanie season! Here is my latest tapestry crochet beanie pattern.

This beanie features diamond shapes with 4 colors on the body of the hat. I used Red Heart Soft in 4 colors in my yarn stash. All the stitches in this pattern are single crochet. You can make this hat with many color combos, seasonal colors, mix and match with your outfits and also perfect way to get rid of your yarn stash to make more hats for you and your family.

Why I select tapestry crochet method to make this beanie?
  • The tapestry crochet creates a beautiful color work in crochet.
  • It can be worked in rounds and carry unworked yarn through the stitches so it cannot see in both right side and wrong side.
  • Tapestry crochet can be worked in different stitches like hdc, sc. This beanie worked with single crochet.

How to change color?

just work single crochet stitches in back loop until there are only 2 loops left on the hook (image 1). Grab the new colored yarn and pull through the 2 loops (image 2), work the next single crochet with new colored yarn just joined (image 3), over the unworked yarn (image 4), when you need to change color again, drop the working yarn when there are 2 loops on the hook and grab again other colored yarn (image 5 & 6).
