Daisy Flower Crochet Book Sleeve Free Pattern

Here is an easy crochet book sleeve pattern sewn on daisy flower applique. The book sleeve pattern crocheted with single crochet and can be adjustable to any book size. Make this pretty simple daisy flower crochet book sleeve to give an aesthetic, cute and charm look to your book’s look.

After making Checkered Book Sleeve I need to make another book sleeve to one of my favorite book, Zen: The Art of Simple Living. I selected the colors to go with the book cover. This book sleeve is great to use scrap yarns from other crochet projects

Skill level: Easy
Finished size: 5.5″ wide, 7.25″ height.

Material: you can use any weight of yarns

I used
– #4 Medium / Worsted weight yarn from Ice Yarns
– Small amount of yarn in yellow & white color for the daisy flower
– US I/9, 5.5mm crochet hook
– 1 Button
– Stitch markers
– Tapestry needle for weaving ends
– Scissors

Gauge: Gauge is not very important

Abbreviations (US Term)

  • Beg – beginning
  • Ch – chain
  • St – stitch
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Hdc – half double crochet
  • Sl st – slip stitch
  • * to ; – repeat * to the instructions.
  • [ ] or [[ ]] – work instructions within brackets as many times as directed.
This book sleeve is easy & customizable
  • Select any weight of yarns for the sleeve and gauge is not very important
  • Make chains to match with the width of the book you select.
  • Do not crochet foundation chains longer than the book width.
  • Repeat round 2 until the book height.
  • Place the crochet daisy flower applique on it and sew.

Daisy Flower Crochet Book Sleeve Pattern

Make chains to match with the width of the book you select. And crochet additional chain 1.
Round 1: 3 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st across until last st remain, 3 sc in last ch, working on the opposite side of the foundation chains, sc in each of next ch across, join with sl st in first st.

Round 2: ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st.
Repeat round 2 until the book height. And don’t forget to make button loop in the last round.

Last round with button loop

Place the stitch marker, middle of the one side of the book sleeve, where you want to make a button loop.
Sc round with button loop: ch 1, sc in each st around. When you reach the marked st, make a sc in marked st and crochet ch 25 and sl st in last st just crocheted, continue sc around, join with sl st in first st. Fasten off and weave the end.

Sew button opposite side to the loop.

Make an adjustable ring with yellow color,
Round 1: ch 1, 8 hdc into the ring, join with sl st in first st. (8 sts)

Round 2: with white color, *ch 5, hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in each of next ch 3, sl st to the next st of round 1- made one petal; repeat * from around, there should be 8 petals.
Do not cut the yarn

Crochet slip stitch around the edge of the petals
Round 3: * insert the hook in next st of the petal, yarn over, pull up a loop through st and the loop (sl st) on the hook; repeat * from around the edge of the petals.
leaving about 10″ long yarn, fasten off and weave the end.

Using Tapestry needle and yarn tail, sew daisy flower on the book sleeve front side (the side of the button sewn)
