Crochet Table Mat Pattern by Crochet For You.

Last week I played with colors… I crocheted one pattern with different colors. Wow..  I didn’t get tired anymore, plus I took some new experience about the crochet pattern and colors. The pattern can be got a different look by changing colors. That’s the lesson I have found out.

Don’t forget to add this pattern to Ravelry queue

  1. First I made This table mat with coffee color, Hmm.. What do you think?. And added one round of yellow color. It’s not bad, but the pattern is hidden by its color.
  2. So I made another one. This time, I used white color as the main color. It came up nicely.
  3. 3. But I tried one more time. I stopped at with these colors purple and magenta.

Try with your own colors and see the result. Don’t forget to tell what you inspired.

Skill level Easy

Finished size: 9″ diameter

Materials: (For one table mat)
Sport yarn weight (16 WPI)

  • Purple (MC) 32 yard.
  • Magenta (CA) 25 yard.
  • 4 mm crochet hook

I made 6 table mats using 3 balls (MC) 25 g and 2 balls (CA) 25 g.

Gauge 19 dc x 7 rows = 4″ with 4mm crochet hook.

Abbreviations:

  • (MC) = main color
  • (CA) = color A
  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • dc = double crochet
  • sk = skip
  • sp = space
  • st = stitch
  • beg = beginning
  • ch-()sp = chain-(number of chains) spaces
  • * to ; = work instructions within brackets as many times as directed.

Note:
Work going in round. Before changing color, I did fasten off and weave the ends. It was easy to me. If you want a larger table mat, repeat rows 8 – 9 and increase dc sts of the shell sts.

Round 5: ch 3 (count as dc), (1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same ch-4 sp, *sc in next ch-4 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc – count as shell st) in next ch-4 sp; repeat * to around, last sc sl st to beg ch 3 top. (12 shell sts total)
