Crochet Cable Hat

Crossed Cables Crochet Beanie Free Pattern

After making Celtic Stripes Beanie & Yara Beanie, this was my first time attempting real crochet cables! And I’m really happy about the final look of my own design, Crossed Cables Crochet Beanie.

Crochet Cable Hat

As always like my other beanie designs, this cozy beanie works from the bottom up with the ribbed brim. After two short sides join together to make a ribbed band, the body of the hat works on the long side of the ribbed band using crochet cables.

New to crochet cables?

Crochet cables are perfect for intermediate who know how to crochet basic stitches including front and back post stitches.
Using a combination of front post stitches and back post stitches you can make crochet cables. And crossing these post stitches create twisted or braided cables in crochet.

If you are not ready to yet crochet cables here is a simple cable look pattern, Cozy Cable-Look Scarf. If you are new but love to try crochet cables, this pattern comes with lots of step by step photos.
