Crochet Striped Heart Amigurumi Pattern by Crochet For You

This Striped Heart Amigurumi made in the same way as the heart potholder but using single crochet stitches.

This pattern is easy and quick to make also a lovely gift for Valentine’s day. This heart amigurumi can be made in many creative ways. You can make this in any weight of yarns and colors.

Materials
4-Medium weight / Worsted / Approx: 100 total yards (also you can use scrap yarns)

Gauge: Gauge is not very important for this pattern.

Abbreviations (US Term)

  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • st = stitch
  • beg = beginning
  • *to ; = repeat * to the instructions.
  • sc2tog = [insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull up a loop] 2 times, yo, pull back through all the loops on the hook.

Notes

  • Beg ch does not count as st.
  • Gauge is not very important for this pattern.
  • The pattern begins from the bottom and work in rounds. When the color changes, you can carry up the yarn from inside when needs.

Striped Crochet Heart Amigurumi

With red color, make a magic ring,
Round 1: with red, ch 1, 6 hdc into the ring, join with sl st in first st. (6 hdc)
Round 2: with red, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (9 sc)
Round 3: with white, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 2 st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (12 sc)
Round 4: with white, repeat round 3 with white color. (16 sc)
Round 5: with red, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 3 st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (20 sc)
Round 6: with red, repeat round 5. (25 sc)
Round 7: with white, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 4 st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (30 sc)
Round 8: with white, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (30 sc)
Round 9: with red, repeat round 8. (30 sc)
Round 10: with red, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 5 st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (35 sc)
Round 11: with white, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (35 sc)
Round 12: with white, ch 1, 2 sc in first st, *sc in each of next 6 st, 2 sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (40 sc)
Round 13: with red, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (40 sc)
Round 14: with red, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (40 sc)
Round 15: with white, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (40 sc)
Round 16: with white, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (40 sc)

Round 17: with red, ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 19 st around, join with sl st in first st. (20 sc)
Round 18: with red, ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to the round, join with sl st in first st. (20 sc) 
Round 19: with white, ch 1, sc in first st and next 2 st, *sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (16 sc)
Round 20: with white, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (16 sc)
Round 21: with red, ch 1, sc in first st and next st, *sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (12 sc)
Round 22: with red, ch 1, sc in first st, *sc2tog, sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (8 sc)
Round 23: with red, ch 1, begin with first st *sc2tog; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (4 sc)

Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving about 10” long yarn tail. Insert the yarn tail through the tapestry needle and weave in and out through the stitches around the last round, pull the yarn tightly and close the top with few more stitches.

Start adding fiberfill as you go,

Join the red yarn one of the skipped st
Round 17: with red, ch 1, sc in first st and each of next 19 st around, join with sl st in first st. (20 sc)
Round 18: with red, ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to the round, join with sl st in first st. (20 sc) 
Round 19: with white, ch 1, sc in first st and next 2 st, *sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (16 sc)
Round 20: with white, ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st. (16 sc)
Round 21: with red, ch 1, sc in first st and next st, *sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (12 sc)
Round 22: with red, ch 1, sc in first st, *sc2tog, sc in next st; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (8 sc)
Round 23: with red, ch 1, begin with first st *sc2tog; repeat * to around, join with sl st in first st. (4 sc)

Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving about 10” long yarn tail. Insert the yarn tail through the tapestry needle and weave in and out through the stitches around the last round, pull the yarn tightly and close the top with few more stitches.

There is a little hole left in the middle of the two heart tops. You can use it to add more fiberfill to make the shape of the heart. Finally make few stitches using yarn tails of the heart top to close the hole.
