Can you believe this Ever Cozy Crochet Scarf made by combining two crochet methods, filet crochet and surface crochet? Basically the scarf starts with the beautiful diamond fillet pattern. Then adds surface crochet technique for filling the spaces with fur yarn.
This beautiful and luxurious texture is designed by combining two crochet methods, filet crochet and surface crochet.
In filet crochet technique, there are solid blocks and empty blocks (spaces). The surface crochet is used to fill these empty blocks (the spaces) and add more details to the pattern. With the fur yarn and surface crochet, these empty blocks (the spaces) pop up and create a beautiful, cozy and soft finish to the crochet piece. You can apply this method to any filet crochet pattern but I think it will be more beautiful for the filet pattern that the solid blocks are the background. (Find the video tutorial below)

To make diamond lines, I used surface crochet (surface crochet slip stitch)
Make surface crochet to fill the spaces of filet diamond with fur yarn. The video tutorial below will help you understand easily.
- Leaving about 6″ long yarn tail, make a slip knot first with fur yarn. (the yarn tails can be used as a fringe)
- Insert the hook through the loop, and insert hook through one of the open space in first row.
- Yo, pull up a loop through space and the loop on the hook, (first surface stitch made).
- *insert the hook in next space in next row (above row), yo, pull up a loop through space and the loop on the hook; repeat this through the spaces until the last row of the scarf,
- Cut the yarn leaving about 6″ long yarn tail, Fasten off. (the yarn tails can be used as a fringe)
- Start over to make another line from one of the space in first row and follow the previous steps until last row.

Finally, add fringe if you want. See the photo tutorial below I captured when making Half Double Crochet V Stitch Scarf
With fur yarns, cut 8″ strands of yarn, 2 strands together (if you want, you can add more strands), fold the yarn in half (image 1), insert the hook into the space of bottom edge of the scarf (image 2) and pull folded loop through the space (image 3)
